The Mockery of Fools, the Wickedness of Men

Most of the feedback we receive through the Abort73 website is honest and forthright. Some of it, of course, is crude and reprehensible. One of the messages that came in last week fits squarely into category two. The unnamed and anonymous author (who noted that he didn't read anything on the Abort73 website) writes:

It is obviuos that you people have no [expletive] life if your trying to control what people do when they make "mistakes". I mean just last night, I gave my girlfriend an abortion. She thought it was fun, plus it brought us closer together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

He went on to ask:

What do they do with the fetus because our garage is fulll of fetuses or feti, I don't how to say multiple fetus? Also, are they edible because me and my girlfriend are on a low income based budget?

The first thing that responses such as this bring to mind is Proverbs 14:9, "Fools Mock at Sin". The second thing that struck me was this. While this young man went to great lengths to shock us with the most grotesque statements he could think of, his "question" actually runs completely parallel to a recent news story. World Net Daily ran the story, "Abortionist Accused of Eating Fetuses" on June 14, 2005. The first sentence of the article reads, "A Kansas City abortionist is out of business after investigators discovered a grisly house of horrors at his clinic - with fetuses kept in Styrofoam cups in his refrigerator and one employee accusing him of microwaving one and stirring it into his lunch." The rest of the article only gets worse.

Ultimately, while crass emails the like of which we received last week are reprehensible and certainly an embarrassment to the entire "pro-choice" community, how ironic that the reality is actually much worse than the scoffing. This is just another reminder that abortion is a wretched business, much worse than we ever think or imagine.
