Would You Donate $20 to Educate 280 People About Abortion?

I thought it would be interesting this month to do a quick comparison between Abort73 donations and Abort73 web traffic. Here goes. In May 2006, Abort73.com hosted approximately 32,000 unique visitors, who accounted for 36,000 visits and 213,000 page views. That means that each visitor viewed, on average, 7 different pages from the Abort73 website, which is a very encouraging number (you can learn a lot about abortion in 7 pages)! Based on those who joined the Abort73 email list during the month (which won't exactly match the overall visitor demographic, but should be close), 53% were teenagers (with an average age of 16), 78% were under 30 (with an average age of 18), and 22% were 30 or older (with an average age of 42). Over that same period, Abort73 received $2,304 in donations from 38 different individuals (roughly $60 per donor). If you divide the total number of visitors this month with the total number of donors, it comes out to 842 visitors per donor. Or, if you divide total visitors by total amount donated, it comes out to 14 visitors per dollar. By this measure, a $20 donation would account for 280 visitors to the website, and that's a very good return on investment. I realize, of course, that there isn't a direct correlation between what was given this month and the number of people who visited our site. This month's visitors are more closely tied to the donations of months past, and this month's donations will ultimately affect web traffic down the line. Still, I am very encouraged that our donor dollars are going so far. That's not to say I don't pray for a much larger donor base, but I thank God that He is often pleased to use small "armies" to accomplish great things (and thereby magnify His own glory). For those who have given to this work in the past, be encouraged.
